This guide is for anyone invited to a Cohie program as a juror: scoring an application against the rubric, locking your scores, what blind review hides and deadline reminders.

Before you start

  1. Open your account. Create your account from the link in the invitation email. If you already have one, sign in.
  2. Jury scoring. Open Jury scoring in your dashboard. The rounds and applications assigned to you are there.
  3. Confirm the pledge. The first time you open a round, you confirm the confidentiality and impartiality pledge.

Score an application

  1. Conflict of interest. The first thing an application asks is whether you have a conflict of interest. If you declare one, you are permanently removed from that application and your score is left out of the average.
  2. Read. The application is on the left and the rubric on the right. The level descriptions of the selected criterion are shown.
  3. Score. Pick a score for the criterion. With a keyboard, keys 1-5 set the score and J and K move between applications. On a phone the scale shows as a grid.
  4. Comment. You can add a comment per criterion. What you write is saved automatically.
  5. Overall recommendation. Choose accept, waitlist or reject for the application.

Lock your scores

When you've scored everything, lock your scores. A locked score can't be changed, and the database enforces this too. Until you lock, you can change scores as often as you like.

Blind review

If the program uses blind review, personal details and the applicant's identity are not sent to you. They aren't just hidden on screen; they never leave the server, and file names are neutral.

Deadline and reminders

The round deadline is on the calendar. You get a reminder email 3 days and 1 day before it closes.

Frequently asked questions

I want to change my score.

If you haven't locked it, just change it. If it's locked, write to the program team and they'll reopen it.

I know the applicant.

Declare a conflict of interest when you open the application. Also tell the program team so another juror can be assigned.

I can't see some files.

The program team doesn't share every file with jurors. You can't see files marked confidential or deliverables that aren't shared with the jury.
